The Fundraising and Communications Division is responsible for ensuring that Cancer Council maintains a visible, engaging presence in the community; and to inspire and activate support from Victorians.

This is achieved through best-practice high volume direct marketing approaches; exceptional relationship management of high value supporters including major donors, charitable foundations, corporate partners and Gifts in Wills supporters; delivery of iconic fundraising events; and product sales and royalties through our retail arm.

The Partnerships and Philanthropy Unit is responsible for developing and implementing an effective relationship management approach with high value supporters to deliver significant and sustainable income to support the work of Cancer Council Victoria – working with major donors, charitable foundations, corporate partners and Gifts in Wills supporters.

About your opportunity

We are seeking a highly motivated Gifts in Wills Lead – Marketing and Engagement to play a key role in encouraging people to include a Gift in their Will to Cancer Council Victoria. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Gifts in Wills, your role will:

  • Work with campaign strategy and planning, content production teams and external agencies, to produce campaign briefs and oversee the creative development of campaign propositions, copy, assets and materials that bring campaigns and initiatives to life.
  • Drive ongoing development of GIW webpages to help position CCV as the charity of choice for a GIW.
  • Strengthen digital footprint by establishing a prominent presence on Online Will platforms.
  • Develop and market an Online Will offering to engage and acquire new gifts and supporters.
  • Develop marketing collateral, printed and digital, as required.
  • Contribute to the ongoing strategic development and evaluation of the GIW program, identifying opportunities to maximise performance.
All about you

We are looking for someone with:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification in marketing or communications.
  • Knowledge of fundraising campaigns and digital fundraising channels.
  • Knowledge and experience in developing and rolling out strategic marketing planning and delivery approaches in support of delivering fundraising outcomes.
  • Experience of planning marketing activity or projects for campaigns that drive audiences to take action.
  • Knowledge of broad fundraising principles and industry practices.
  • Effective relationship builder with strong stakeholder management and communication skills, and the ability to adapt to different styles and ways of working.
